Silken can be knitted as a single strand using needles sizes 2.00–4.00, depending on the look and lightness you want. You can knit it double or choose to combine it with, for example, a strand of silk mohair. If you knit it with mohair, you’ll achieve a gauge of 21–23 stitches per 10 cm, allowing you to knit airy, beautiful sweaters on slightly larger needles. The combination of silk and silk mohair creates a truly luxurious look with a touch more weight, while still offering plenty of airiness and body.
Silk feels comfortable against the skin no matter the season and—just like wool—has both temperature-regulating and insulating properties. It can therefore easily be worn all year round.
